Former Dogana da Mar customs house at the triangular tip of Dorsoduro, built 1677-1682 by Giuseppe Benoni. The City of Venice granted Pinault a 33-year concession in 2008; Tadao Ando renovation ran January 2008 to March 2009 on a 20 million EUR budget, reopening 6 June 2009. Parallel rectangular gallery halls and polished exposed-concrete floors set against the preserved brick walls.
