American architect and theorist born 1964; an early pioneer of digital, computational and animate design. Coined “blob architecture” in the essay “Blobs, or Why Tectonics is Square and Topology is Groovy” and authored Animate Form (1999). Won the Golden Lion at the 2008 Venice Architecture Biennale.
