Private art museum in Berower Park, Riehen near Basel, founded 1982 by Swiss dealer Ernst Beyeler (1921-2010) and his wife Hildy Kunz Beyeler (1922-2008) to house their collection of around 400 modern and contemporary works by Picasso, Cézanne, Monet, Klee, Bacon, Rothko, Warhol and Lichtenstein. The Renzo Piano building opened 18 October 1997 with about 3,764 sqm of exhibition space.
