Cannaregio palazzo on the Cannaregio Canal, acquired in 1788 by tobacco merchant Count Girolamo Manfrin who turned the piano nobile into a public picture gallery (visited by Canova, Byron, Ruskin, Manet). Acquired by Anish Kapoor in 2018; now headquarters of the Anish Kapoor Foundation, his Venetian studio and a future museum. Opened to the public for only the second time during the 2026 Biennale (6 May – 8 August 2026).
